President Donald Trump has invited Brentwood parents who lost their children to gang violence to his first State of the Union address.

Nisa Mickens, 15, and Kayla Cuevas, 16, were found beaten and stabbed to death in January 2016. All four of their parents received presidential invitations to see Trump address the nation in person, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Monday. They will sit alongside first lady Melania Trump.

MS-13 street gang violence has terrified the community for more than a year. Across Long Island, the gang is accused of killing more than 25 teens and young adults in the last two years.

The rash of violence has already received attention from the Trump administration.
