The inability to swim didn't stop a man from trespassing at a municipal pool - and getting stranded on a platform in the water.

Fair Lawn police posted on social media about the incident, which took place at Memorial Pool. Police said a man illegally visited the municipal pool after hours and ended up getting stranded on a platform in the pool. Police officials say the trespasser was unable to get back to the shoreline, because he couldn't swim.

First responders who arrived at the scene ended up deploying a rescue boat to transport the man back to dry land.

"So if you're gonna be a 23-year-old adult and trespass at Memorial Pool, at least know to swim," police said in a social media post.

Police went on to thank the first responders who helped get the man to safety. They also issued to warning to anyone thinking about visiting the popular summer recreation spot when it's not open.

"This is our PSA, do not trespass after hours at Memorial Pool," police said.

The trespasser was uninjured, but officials say he was issued a summons for using the park after hours.
