A political consultant from Waterbury has been sentenced to 8 months in prison for wire fraud.
Victor Cuevas pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges.
Prosecutors say Cuevas submitted false petitions to a candidate for probate judge in 2017 who had hired his firm to gather signatures for the race.
Cuevas is also a former state representative, who resigned in 2016 after a conviction on a bank fraud charge.
