A man was seriously injured when his SUV slammed into a pickup truck before driving through a fence and into a tree in Coram, police say.

They say the impact sent the truck into the road where it just missed hitting another car.

Police say 33-year-old Anthony Maynes, of Ronkonkoma, tried to pass the car when he crashed. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Maynes’ passenger suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening, police say.
