They say Centre Island police received a call about the boat floating in the water. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and aviation units responded, along with help from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Bayville Fire Department.
The boat was located about 1 mile north of Centre Island's Rocky Point.
Nassau police's aviation unit found the body of a 57-year-old man floating nearby, they say.
The incident was deemed non-suspicious, but police say their investigation is ongoing.
The man's identity was not released.
