A Connecticut woman has been charged with sexually coercing a Long Island minor she met online.
Amily Colon, of Wethersfield, CT, was arrested on Friday on a federal criminal complaint charging her with alleged sexual coercion of a minor she met online, according to David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
The 31-year-old allegedly identified herself as "Alice" while initiating an online relationship with a 13-year-old boy on Long Island, according to court documents. Colon primarily communicated with the victim through the Discord app, and conversations allegedly became sexually explicit, with the two sending explicit media of themselves to each other.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says that on June 26, Colon allegedly traveled to Long Island and picked up the minor victim, brought him back to her residence and attempted to engage in sexual activity. She then drove the victim back and dropped him off a few blocks away from his home.
This investigation is being conducted by the FBI New Haven Child Exploitation Task Force, the FBI’s Long Island Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Suffolk County (N.Y.) Police Department, with the assistance of the Wethersfield Police Department.
Colon is charged with attempted coercion and enticement of a minor and with transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, each offense carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years of imprisonment and a maximum of life.
