Nine people were arrested by Suffolk police late Friday night for an illegal street race in Farmingdale.
Authorities say officers responded to the scene on Central Avenue and stopped the race around 11:40 p.m.
Twelve vehicles were seized and impounded. The nine suspects involved were issued a total of 46 tickets.
Police say they are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
