Police: Man wanted for attempted robbery at Bethpage ShopRite
Officers say the suspect attempted to leave the store when a security guard tried to stop him and they started to fight.

Police are searching for a man who attempted to steal grocery items and allegedly injured a security guard in the process.
Detectives say the man entered ShopRite on Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage.
News 12 was told the suspect grabbed merchandise around 3:30 p.m. Friday and shoved it into his waistband.
Officers say he attempted to leave the store when a security guard tried to stop him and they started to fight.
Both men allegedly fell to the ground and the suspect ran off without the merchandise.
The security guard hurt his knee but he's expected to be OK.
