Police say a man and his son were found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Glen Cove.

According to police, the incident happened at a home on Hitching Post Lane.

The unidentified 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The man's 12-year-old son is hospitalized, but his condition is unknown.

Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what went wrong.
