Gun shots were fired into a car in Mastic on Wednesday with people inside, according to police.

Investigators say someone fired a gun into the car around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Main Avenue and Roberts Street.

The people inside the car were not hit or injured.

Officials are searching for whoever fired the shots.
