Detectives say claims of a man trying to lure a West Babylon High School student into his car on Thursday afternoon were fabricated.
A woman previously told News 12 that her daughter called her to say she witnessed a man trying to lure her best friend into his vehicle.
The district even sent a letter to parents about the incident that had allegedly taken place on Arnold Avenue.
Police say when they looked into the claims, they realized that the incident did not take place.
