Police: 2 people killed in West Babylon crash

Route 109 in West Babylon was closed as the result of a serious crash but has since reopened.

Police say two people were killed in a crash in West Babylon.
They say the two-car crash happened when a 63-year-old driver was traveling east in the westbound lanes on Route 109 near Pratt Avenue around 9:40 a.m.
News 12 is told the driver hit a car with two people inside. The 63-year-old driver, Frank Motta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fernando Goncalves, 79, was inside the other car, and died at the hospital shortly after.
His daughter, Ana-Paula Goncalves-Kalinowski, was driving the car and is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
