Police say one person has died following a crash in Rockville Centre.

Detectives tell News 12 a Nassau police medic discovered the crash on Peninsula Boulevard about one mile from the Southern Staten Parkway.

Police say a 24-year-old was driving a Mini Cooper when he lost control and hit a tree around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The man is in critical condition and his passenger in his 20s died at the scene.

As News 12 has reported, there was another deadly crash just miles from the area on Sunday.
