Police say one man has been arrested following a stabbing Sunday night in Huntington Station.

According to police, two men were engaged in a verbal dispute inside Las Lajas Deli on Depot Road around 10 p.m.

That is when police say one of the men stabbed the other in the neck, chest, and abdomen.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested Adelcy Almendarez for the stabbing.

The 40-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

Almendarez, 50, of Huntington Station is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
