Police have released photos of a car they say belongs to a person of interest in the attack of a woman in Port Jefferson Station.
They say a woman was attacked by a man on the Greenway Trail around 11:30 a.m. last Tuesday.
Authorities say the victim was exercising when a man came up from behind her and tackled her to the ground.
They say he said inappropriate things to her. The 54-year-old woman was able to scream and another walker was able to scare her attacker off. The woman was not injured in the attack.
Police say the suspect was spotted in the driver seat of a dark-colored, 2019-2020 Hyundai Elantra with a sunroof.
The victim described the suspect as a Black man in his 30s, around 5'10" and heavyset. At the time of the attack, she says he had on a black sweatshirt and green sweatpants with a black stripe down the side.
