As of today, more Long Islanders will now be allowed to gather outside at private homes.
Up to 25 people will now be allowed to gather outside at private homes. However, the maximum capacity for indoor gatherings still stands at 10 people.
Dr. Sharon Nachman with Stony Brook Medicine says the easing of restrictions is a direct result of the ongoing vaccination effort.
“We're seeing less patients come into our hospitals and our ICUs. The more we vaccinate, the more we can open,” says Nachman.
Also today, indoor fitness classes can reopen statewide at 33% capacity.
