Restrictions are continuing to ease on Long Island as people can gather in larger groups for outdoor events starting Monday.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says up to 25 people can get together in a private setting as long as they remain outside.
The current limit on outside gathers is 10 people. Indoor gatherings will still be restricted to 10 people.
In non-residential settings, like wedding venues, 100 people are allowed indoors, and 200 people are being allowed outside.
This is happening as Gov. Cuomo announced that the state has administered at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine to more than five million people.
Other key metrics across the state are also improving as the statewide positivity rate as of Saturday was below 3% and hospitalizations were at their lowest point since Dec. 5.
Some Long Islanders say it might be too soon to ease some of these restrictions while others agree with the loosening of restrictions.
"We're ready to be open. We're ready to have fun, start having barbecues. I know I'm ready. I just picked up some meat. It's time," said Plainview resident Scott Liptzin.
Starting April 2, performance venues will be allowed to open at 33% capacity with a limit of 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors.
