The streets of Newtown were packed Labor Day morning for the 60th annual parade.
Organizers say it's the only one on this day in the state.
The line of entertainment had everyone hooked, and included police and fire trucks, school bands, singers and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
"We were watching the weather and thank goodness that the rain held for this parade. It's great because a lot of work goes into it. The committee works hard all year around," said Diane Orlando.
Orlando has been attending for more than 20 years. She said this parade was extra special because it was canceled the last two years due to COVID-19.
