News 12 Long Island's Elisa DiStefano got an up-close look at the movie studios in Bethpage used for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was shot entirely in New York State.
In this sequel, Spider-Man faces a new enemy, a technician with Oscorp Industries who's zapped with electricity and becomes the power-eating villain "Electro." Intricate parts of the movie that took place at Oscorp were filmed on stage three at Grumman Studios.
A subway car was brought in on stage one to film a scene. Other action-packed scenes were shot nearby.
Filmmakers couldn't close down Times Square to shoot their big budget battle scene, so they built an exact-size replica of the world famous landmark in a parking lot at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters tonight.
