Nassau lawmakers approved a measure Monday that bans marijuana use at county-owned facilities.
The measure will ban smoking marijuana in buildings, parks, playgrounds, beaches and on sidewalks. This comes after New York decriminalized the drug earlier this year.
New state laws allow recreational use and sales of cannabis wherever smoking is allowed.
Those 21+ can also possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana.
