Nassau principal charged; DA says she omitted sex with student suspension on employment applications

A former Oyster Bay-East Norwich principal accused of falsifying employment applications is facing charges, according to the Nassau County district attorney.
Jessica Bader, 52, had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student while teaching at East Meadow High School in 2005, according to a state report. Her teaching certificate was suspended for four years in 2007 as a result.
Bader resigned as the principal of James H. Vernon School over six months ago.
The Oyster Bay-East Norwich district did not say whether they knew about it before hiring her.
Bader is accused of omitting her suspension and has been charged with falsifying employment applications.
Parents told News 12 that they were concerned how something so serious could slip through the employment process.
Bader faces up to four years in prison if convicted. She is due back in court on April 11.
