A Nassau County police officer is recovering today after breaking his finger during a struggle with a suspect.

Officials say that Jorge Espinosa stole two pairs of sweatpants from a Wal-Mart located on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

When Espinosa left the store, police say they chased and caught him in the parking lot of NUMC.

He was eventually arrested after an alleged struggle, causing one of the officers to break his finger.

Espinosa is facing a list of charges including assault.
