A 49-year-old Bay Shore man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to course of sexual conduct for repeatedly raping a 12-year-old, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney.

Miguel Enrique Diaz was employed as a Bay Shore School District bus driver and Uber driver at the time.

The rapes occurred for nearly a year. The 12-year-old told their mother about the sexual abuse in March 2024.

The mother called Suffolk County police and on March 13, 2024, Diaz was arrested following an investigation by the Special Victims Squad detectives.

As News 12 previously reported, Suffolk Transportation Services said Diaz had a clean criminal record when hired.

Diaz is expected back in court on April 24.

The DA expects he will be sentenced to 16 years in prison with 15 years of post-release supervision in addition to being added to the sex offender registry.
