Osprey stuck in net at Holtsville Topgolf, days after hawk was trapped

An osprey became trapped in the netting at Topgolf in Holtsville Monday night.

As News 12 reported, this comes less than a week after a hawk was stuck in the net at the same facility.
In the incident on Aug. 19, the animal was able to free itself after being lodged 100 feet in the air for over 24 hours, rescuers said.
News 12 has reached out to Topgolf for comment on both occasions and are waiting to hear back.
Ospreys are federally protected in the United States under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
It is not yet known if this bird has been freed or rescued at this time.
