A man suffered serious injuries in a fireworks accident in East Patchogue.
John Philpotts-Kerr, 65, was hurt when a firework unexpectedly detonated in his lap, Suffolk police say.
The incident happened inside the man’s apartment on Pine Neck Avenue on Sunday night, according to police.
Philpotts-Kerr was airlifted to the hospital.
There were no other injuries.
