A Syosset man accused of stabbing his parents earlier this year was arraigned Thursday in Hempstead on a petit larceny charge.

Ian Kazer is accused of stealing $700 worth of gift cards from the Target store at which he worked.

Law enforcement sources tell say Kazer was fired and later went home and attacked his parents. His mother died from stab wounds; his father survived.

Kazer pleaded not guilty to the petit larceny charge.
