The Malverne village board voted Thursday to change a controversial street name.
They are renaming Lindner Place, which is named after Paul Linder.
He was the head of the Ku Klux Klan on Long Island in the 1920s.
Some neighbors have been asking for the name change for months.
They celebrated the village board's decision and want the street name changed by May
