The Long Island Hispanic Bar Association held a coat drive Sunday for cancer survivors at St. Luke's in Brentwood.
Organizers teamed up with the Hempstead Hispanic Civic Association to donate the coats to a Latina cancer survivor group.
They say that even though the pandemic has been the focus of the country for almost a year, cancer has been affecting people before and will affect people after it's over.
The Long Island Hispanic Bar Association wrapped up six weeks of donations to five organizations, along with 200 coats and gifts cards.
