Tonight: A few scattered showers will continue across parts of the island tonight as cloudy skies slowly begin to break apart overnight. Rainfall should stay light overall, with only some wet roads and minor ponding possible in a few spots.
Friday: Clouds and a few passing showers may linger through the day as the storm system slowly moves away from the northeast. While it will not be a washout, expect cooler temperatures and periods of unsettled weather before conditions gradually improve late in the day.
Saturday: Warmer weather returns to Long Island with temperatures rising into the 70s under a mix of sun and clouds. It will feel comfortable outside thanks to lower humidity, creating a great day for outdoor plans, boating, and beach visits. It will be cooler along the south shore.
Sunday: Summerlike warmth builds across the island with temperatures pushing to near 80 degrees while humidity remains fairly low. A brief isolated shower cannot be ruled out, but most areas stay dry and pleasant. Again, it will be cooler along the south shore.
Look ahead: The warm pattern is expected to continue into next week with mainly dry weather and above-average temperatures across the area. Anyone spending time on the water should still use caution, since ocean and bay water temperatures remain dangerously cold in the low 50s.
