Nassau residents are making a final push to save a historic Manhasset mansion from an uncertain future.

Inisfada is a mansion that was built by industrialists Nicholas and Genevieve Brady in 1916. It is being sold to a Hong Kong developer today.

Richard Bentley, of the Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Associations, says Inisfada supporters contacted him, asking for help to save the mansion. Bentley, however, says the sale of the property has been secretive.

Inisfada was previously owned by the Jesuit Order of the Catholic Church. Deacon Tom Evrard confirmed the sale, and says the the deal's closing is scheduled for next week.

The Jesuit's New York Province had no comment on the sale, and officials at North Hills Village Hall say they will provide a written statement later on.

Residents and civic leaders say they are not giving up on saving Inisfada. They are filling out an application in hope of getting the property on the New York State and National Register of Historic Places.
