The Elmont LIRR station is expected to be opened by October 2021.

The station comes as part of the arena project at Belmont Park, and will be located between the Queens Village and Bellerose stations, just east of the Cross Island Parkway.

News 12 is told that it will run eastbound service in time for the Belmont Park arena also opening in 2021, but will be fully operational for both eastbound and westbound customers in late 2022.

A private developer for the project plans to run electric shuttle buses to transport riders from the station to the Islanders arena, as well as the proposed hotel and retail area.
