Two college students from Long Island are accused of burning students at Tulane University during fraternity hazing rituals.
According to police reports, Preston Gelman, from Dix Hills, Kevin Dunn, from Bellmore and other members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity repeatedly poured boiling water on pledges. Police say they then covered them in flour, vinegar, cayenne pepper, crab oil and wasabi sauce. The rites were part of initiation, police say.
At least two of the pledges received second- and third-degree burns. Both the university and the fraternity have suspended the chapter. Pi Kappa Alpha says the allegations are ?nothing short of reprehensible, and are completely contrary to the mission, vision and purpose of our fraternity."
