A Plainview Hospital nurse says she just returned from Houston after helping patients and staff affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Dory Harvey says she saw an email about helping in the relief effort, filled out a form and got a call the next morning asking if she could help.  She says she got the call on the Friday before Labor Day and left for Houston on Labor Day.

Harvey says it was an experience she will never forget.

"We were down there for a week, and we were very blessed to be able to relieve staff and help patients,” she says.

She says the people in Houston were so grateful and appreciative that she was there, and that she was honored to be able to serve in that capacity.

Harvey helped with oncology staff and patients.
