Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Meredith Garofalo says much needed rain is on the way.
WHAT'S NEW: Model guidance is trending toward the rainier solution for the end of the holiday weekend. Before that, a quiet Saturday and just stray showers for Sunday.
WHAT'S NEXT: Rain is expected on Monday on-and-off throughout the morning and again in the evening. Severe weather is not expected and most of the rain will be light. This will not be a drought busting rain, but it could provide some relief. Rain will likely last into at least early Tuesday, but the rest of the week looks dry.
SUNDAY: Peeks of sun with clouds in between. Showers are possible on-and-off, particularly farther west in Nassau County. Not a washout. The Island will stay dry for most of the day. Highs near 82. Lows near 69.
MONDAY: Cloudy with showers in the morning and again later in the day. Humid with highs near 80. Mostly cloudy at night with the chance for showers. Lows near 66.
TUESDAY: Morning showers expected, then partly sunny. Highs near 79. Lows near 64.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and a bit less humid. Highs near 80. Lows near 65.
