The sale of Rubie's Costume Company has gotten the
green light from a judge.
Rubie’s,
based on Long Island, is the
largest costume business in the world.
As
News 12 has reported, the company has fallen on hard times, especially after
the pandemic forced theaters and movie companies to shift release dates and
even stopped production in Hollywood.
A deal valued at about $133 million is aimed at
bringing the retailer out of bankruptcy and will save 400 jobs.
The
current owners would join new owners to create a new company called Rubie’s 2.
