The New York Islanders got off to an early start on the last day of the trade deadline by sending a package of draft picks to the Ottawa Senators for center Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who then agreed to a six-year contract extension with the Isles.
 
 
News 12's Kevin Maher says Pageau will give the Islanders some much-needed scoring help as they make a run for securing a playoff spot this season.
