Rain will be moving through the area tonight. A beneficial quarter-inch to almost an inch of water could collect. The higher wet-weather doses would occur in storms a little more juiced, with possible non-severe thunderstorms. Other areas will just see the bare minimum, but enough to keep those lawns green.
The wet weather will be moving away from the area just before sunrise. The morning commute will be damp but uneventful. The skies will be gradually improving throughout the day, yielding almost sunny skies by the day's end. The winds will be more from the north and northwest, keeping an ever-so slight chill in the air. The normal high for the last day of April is 68 degrees. We'll be 4 to 6 degrees on the cooler side. The benefit of the overnight rains? It knocks the pollen down for the day, so allergy sufferers catch a small break.
Friday is filled with sunshine as fair weather moves in to replace the rain. Temperatures again will be pleasant but somewhat cooler than the seasonable start for May.
We'll be keeping an eye on the weather charts for the weekend. Right now, I am not impressed with the possibility of a coastal storm bringing rain and wind to the region. I believe this system will slide south of the region. Clouds will waft in our direction, but wet weather should be limited to the farthest areas to our south.
