Holtsville man arrested for embezzling over $400K from employer

A man is accused of stealing nearly half a million dollars from his employer in Suffolk County.
Anthony Ferguson, 37, of Holtsville, was arrested after an East Moriches business owner reported money being embezzled from his company over the course of five years.
A joint investigation by Financial Crimes Unit detectives and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office determined that Ferguson deposited more than 200 checks into his personal bank account, totaling $443,841.
Police tell News 12 the money was taken between the dates of April 9, 2020 and Nov. 28, 2025.
The owner filed the police report on Dec. 3, 2025.
The name of the business was not released, but police say it’s located on Frowein Road in East Moriches.
Ferguson is facing charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records when he arraigned on Tuesday.
