A service station of a BP gas station was heavily damaged after a fast-moving fire broke out, prompting a large emergency response Monday evening.
Nassau County fire marshals first received the 911 call to the Jericho Turnpike location. The Garden City Park Fire Department found the building fully engulfed in flames, with multiple garage bays and at least one vehicle on fire, leading to a second alarm and mutual aid from 13 departments.
About 75 firefighters responded, bringing the blaze under control in under an hour. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal and the Nassau County Police Department Arson/Bomb Squad.
