Graffiti of a swastika, pentagram and an upside-down cross was found spray-painted at San Remo Community Park in Kings Park.
Police say the vandalism was reported by a resident who saw it while walking his dog over the weekend. Authorities are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Detectives with the Hate Crimes Unit have been canvassing the neighborhood looking for suspects.
Police are expanding the investigation because additional graffiti was found down the road from the park. A swastika was found spray-painted on the driveway of a Birch Road home that belongs to a minister.
