Officials say more cameras will soon be looking at license plates in Glen Cove.

The city council just approved a plan to install the cameras along Route 107.

A total of 53 security cameras are already working downtown and in the city's parking garages.

Officials say the cameras helped city police catch a 79-year-old man accused of trying to abduct a 15-year-old girl last month.

The plate readers are being paid for with federal grant money.
