Police say a former substitute teacher in the Port Washington School District has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing two middle school students. 

According to police, James Servin, 51, was a substitute teacher for the district for six years.

Police say both of the victims are female minors and attended Carrie Palmer Weber Middle School, located in the district. The alleged incident happened on school grounds near the end of January.

Servin has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of forcible touching and two counts of sex abuse.

Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Mooney says the district has received complaints by several students about alleged inappropriate behavior on the part of a substitute teacher at the middle school and police are investigating the allegations.

A district spokesperson told News 12 that "the District has also investigated the matter, removed the substitute and is following the required process for notifying the commissioner of education."
