4-year-old reunites with team that helped save his life in Huntington

Suffolk mother Maria Carlin recalls the events of the night that led to the resuscitation of her 4-year-old son Jack at Northwell Huntington Hospital.
After spending a day of fun in the sun and playing in the water, Jack Carlin began to have difficulty breathing when he was home.
His mother Maria Carlin took off to Northwell Huntington Hospital, but five minutes away from the hospital, Jack went into cardiac arrest.
Upon his arrival, nurses called for a pediatric Code Blue and through teamwork, brought his pulse back to life.
He was transferred to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a laryngeal cleft, a rare condition with an abnormal separation between the trachea and the esophagus. It was repaired through stitches.
Although Jack isn’t fully aware of what happened and will learn as he gets older, his mother says he knew he was heading somewhere else. She says he told her the following morning that he thought he would be seeing heaven.
Jack's bravery officiated him a hero and is set to go to Monster Jam.
