In 2013, Andrea Rebello was being held hostage in her Uniondale apartment when police showed up. Rebello was accidentally shot to death by Officer Nikolas Budimlic.

The Rebellos say they want to find out about Nassau's procedures for handling hostage incidents and whether proper procedures were followed.
