Video exclusively obtained by News 12 shows a vehicle barreling through a Hicksville home earlier this month.
The white sedan drove right through a stop sign at Plainview Road and into the house on Gales Drive - creating holes through the front and side of the structure before slamming into the garage.
No one was injured in the crash but the homeowner's son, Eric Ho, was upstairs when it happened.
"The impact and the sound it made was quite tremendous, I thought it was an earthquake that happened," Ho says.
He says the front door of the home was sitting on the stairs shattered and a huge portion of the house was missing.
Ho's parents were not home at the time and the car went right through their bedroom. He says his mother likely would have been in the car's path if she had been home.
"That's probably where should have been resting at that time if she had been over at the house," Ho says. "She would have been killed; she's completely traumatized by it."
Nassau County police would not tell News 12 if the driver, who was unlicensed at the time of the crash, was ticketed for driving without a license.
The house has been deemed structurally unstable and the family are now living in a hotel, having to pay a lot of expenses out of pocket. The family doesn't know when they'll be able to go back home.
"It's frightening to know that we don't know what's happening with our living situation and in the long term whether or not we can fix this house in a cost-effective manner," Ho says.
There is a GoFundMe to help the family pay for the day-to-day and other expenses.
