In communities where access to quality academic support can be limited, the Einstein Program is filling a critical gap.

News 12 first reported on the Einstein Program in 2021.

It was introduced as a new initiative offering free educational mentoring to low-income students on Long Island.

The program’s promise: to deliver tutoring, mentoring, and advising services at no cost to families.

Today, that promise is being fulfilled at scale.

Brothers Maximus and Matthias Dinanauth, a first-generation Guyanese family from Valley Stream, are living proof of the program’s impact. Maximus logs into weekly Zoom lessons, while Matthias, now a high school student, reflects on how the program shaped his academic journey.

With each milestone, their story showcases how sustained support can transform a student’s trajectory.

Executive director Joseph Melillo emphasizes that the Einstein Program isn’t just about academics, it’s about nurturing the whole child. Emotional wellness, confidence, and mentorship are core pillars of their approach.

What makes the program unique is how it’s funded, a single family financially runs the entire operation, ensuring no student ever pays a dime. From one-on-one tutoring to mentorship and advising, the Einstein Program remains entirely free for participating families.
