Sentencing of former Roslyn School Superintendent Frank Tassone has been postponed Wednesday after he agreed to cooperate with the prosecution.
Tassone pleaded guilty to his part in the $11 million Roslyn school spending scandal. Now, Tassone has agreed to testify against others in the scheme, including his live-in partner Stephen Signorelli. Signorelli is charged with submitting $219,000 in phony bills to Roslyn schools from his printing company. Signorelli?s hearing was also postponed.
Tassone?s attorney says his testimony would implicate all co-conspirators in the scandal, whether they have already been indicted or not. His hope is that Tassone?s cooperation would lessen his current plea deal of four to 12 years.
