East Hampton Airport to close permanently, new airport to open in its place

The East Hampton Town Board voted Thursday to close the East Hampton Airport and open a new airport in the same location.
The unanimous decision comes after years of complaints as certain Federal Aviation Administration restrictions are expiring.
The East Hampton Airport is expected to be deactivated and permanently close on Feb. 28.
A new and private-use airport is set to open on March 4.
