Driver wanted for slamming into police vehicle, fleeing the scene in Deer Park

Police say an officer was driving a marked police vehicle with lights and sirens on Commack Road while trying to make a traffic stop.

Police are searching for the driver who slammed into a patrol car and sped off in Deer Park.
Suffolk police say an officer was driving a marked police vehicle with lights and sirens on Commack Road while trying to make a traffic stop.
That is when police say a car crashed into the officer and drove away.
The officer had to be taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
The incident happened earlier this week.
Police say the vehicle has distinctive aftermarket chrome 5-spoke rims.
