News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says Tuesday will be a little bit cooler, with highs in the 60s to near 70, along with partly sunny skies. Long Island still has an easterly breeze that's bringing rough conditions on the water and the threat of some minor coastal flooding at high tide through Tuesday.
The best chance for rain this week will arrive Wednesday night into Thursday, with drier weather heading into the weekend. It will be nice with high temperatures generally in the low 70s. Saturday is the pick of the week with nice, seasonable weather.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy with the chance of a passing sprinkle or shower. Lows near 56 degrees with northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunrise: 6:42 a.m.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny with highs near 70 degrees. Breezy at times with east northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Sunset: 6:45 p.m. Mostly cloudy at night with lows near 58 degrees. East wind 5 to 15 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with the chance for rain showers late in the day into Wednesday night. The day is trending drier, and any rain will be on the light side. Highs near 70 degrees. Lows near 59 degrees.
THURSDAY: Cloudy with the chance for rain showers, especially in the morning. Improving weather Thursday evening into Thursday night. Highs near 75 degrees. Lows near 60 degrees.
